Off-Black No. 57 by Farrow & Ball is a soft black and one of their original colours—an uncomplicated name for a well-loved classic. Compared with stronger blacks, Off-Black is noticeably milder and more flattering to adjacent colours, making it a favourite for creating contrast without harshness.
Because it has less of the cool blue undertone found in Railings or Black Blue, Off-Black pairs beautifully with warm neutrals, soft whites, and heritage shades. Use it on doors, trim, cabinetry, or feature walls when you want a classic black look that feels softer and more liveable.
