Preference Red No. 297 by Farrow & Ball is the deepest and richest of their reds—a Baroque shade named in honour of Farrow & Ball’s original trade name, Preference Paints. Bold, luxurious, and unapologetically dramatic, it’s a standout choice when you want a red that feels modern, curated, and high-impact.

Preference Red looks especially striking paired with Paean Black for depth and contrast, or with Sulking Room Pink for a warmer, tonal scheme. Use it for dining rooms, libraries, feature walls, or cabinetry when you want the “preferred red” of modern homes.
