An inky navy

Stiffkey Blue No. 281 by Farrow & Ball is an inky navy named after the Norfolk beach where the mud (and cockles) share a deep, distinctive blue tone. Traditional in spirit but very current in effect, it’s often used as an alternative to Down Pipe when you want a richly dramatic space with a more contemporary finish.
In well-lit areas, Stiffkey Blue can appear much bluer, giving you a bold navy that still feels lively. Contrast it with Ammonite on trim and ceilings for a crisp, modern balance.
Recommended Primer & Undercoat: Dark Tones.
Complementary white: Ammonite.
